The Best Cigar Humidifiers – Keep Your Cigars Fresh

So you’re looking for a good way to keep your cigars fresh and stay within that magic 72% humidity level in your humidor. There are a lot of ways you can keep your cigars humidified but there are few ways to keep your cigars at a good humidity level consistently with little maintenance. In fact, I’ve even kept a wet piece of paper towel in the humidor to keep the humidity up (I know, sad, right?).

The key to having a good humidifier is to have one that is low-maintenance, affordable and effective. That’s why we’ve chosen to round up the best cigar humidifiers on the market in this post.

Our Top Picks for Cigar Humidifiers

So let’s jump right into our list of the best cigar humidifiers below.

Boveda Humidification Packs

One of the best cigar humidifier products out there for years now have been the Boveda humidification packs. They come in a couple of humidification levels but I like 72% humidity the best for my cigars.

These packs are pretty affordable at under $20 for a 4-pack and they will keep your cigars at a proper humidity level consistently. I’d say that you could stretch each pack for a couple of months at least with a small humidor full of about 50 cigars. When they start to dry out, you can put them in a tupperware container with a wet paper towel and they will recharge and pull the water from the paper towel into the pack.

If you’re not willing to recharge them, just throw the dry one away after a couple of months and toss a new one in. For the price, they’re not a bad investment at all to keep your stogies fresh.

Drymistat Humidifier Tubes

I just recently started using Drymistat humidification tubes in my smaller humidors and I love them. Basically, they’re just tubes that are full of humidification beads that are wet down with water (or better yet, distilled water).

I like them a lot because they’re so easy to maintain. One tube is all you need for about 50 cigars and they’re so easy to recharge when they dry out. Just add water!

The form factor is nice too. Rather than having some bulky plastic cigar humidifier in your humidor that robs you of precious cigar space, you can have a nice cigar-shaped humidifier in there that will keep your cigars at the proper humidity level.

These don’t impart any weird flavors into your cigars either like some humidifiers can.

For under $20 bucks with free shipping, these are a screaming deal. They’ll last for about 2-3 months before drying out and at that time, you can just fill them back up with water and recharge them. I’ve had mine in my humidors for over a year now with minimal recharging (maybe 3 times last year). These are definitely a great value and they’re so simple to use.

Cigar Oasis Electronic Cigar Humidifier

If you’ve got a larger humidor that has up to 300 cigars, you’re going to need a little bit more humidification power than the packs or tubes can provide. That’s where the Cigar Oasis electronic humidifier comes in.

The nice thing about this humidifier is that it’s not very bulky at all and very easy to use in almost any medium to large-sized humidor.

Another nice feature is that you can exactly set the humidity you want for your cigars with this humidifier. It also has a temperature gauge and a micro USB cable and wi-fi capability. This thing is so small that it will even fit in smaller humidors and works surprisingly well.

After about 6 months or so, just recharge the water cartridge with distilled water or a cigar humidification solution of your choice. It’s a no-brainer for around $100 for medium to large-sized humidors that hold up to 300 cigars.

What Else Should I Look For in a Cigar Humidifier?

The best cigar humidifiers will allow you to control the humidity in your humidor for months at a time. You want something easy to maintain and quick to start working. You shouldn’t have to be worrying about the humidity levels in your humidor fluctuating because of a cheap cigar humidifier.

Get one of the options we listed above and you’ll spend less time maintaining your cigars and more time smoking them.
